Sources for exam rules
Exam speeds, time limits and error rules come from official notifications and instructions published by the recruiting body, such as SSC skill test instructions and Railway Recruitment Board CBTST notices. Where boards publish nothing specific, we say so and describe the common practice instead of guessing.
Practice passages
All passages are written for EnglishTyping.in. They follow the style of real exam passages: office orders, letters, reports and general essays in Indian English, plus Hindi and Marathi passages in standard Unicode. They are not copied from past exam papers.
Accuracy of the tools
Typing test results follow published formulas: five characters per word, net speed after mistakes, full and half mistakes as defined by exam boards. Built-in keyboards follow the standard Inscript layout and the Krutidev / Remington GAIL key positions.
Updates and corrections
Each tool page shows when it was last updated. When a new notification changes the rules, we update the page. If you find a mistake, email contact@englishtyping.in; we fix confirmed errors and update the date.
