About EnglishTyping.in
EnglishTyping.in is a free typing practice website for people in India, especially candidates preparing for the typing skill tests in government recruitment: SSC, CPCT, railways, state commissions and courts.
Why this site exists
Most typing websites are built for users in the United States or Europe. Their passages, spellings and scoring have little to do with an SSC CHSL or RRB NTPC skill test, and almost none support Hindi on the Inscript or Remington GAIL keyboards that Indian exams actually use. We built EnglishTyping.in to close that gap: exam-length passages in Indian English, Hindi typing tests with the exam keyboards built in, and results that count full and half mistakes the way exam boards do.
What you can do here
- Take English typing tests from 15 seconds to 15 minutes, and exam simulations for SSC, CPCT, RRB, DSSSB, UPSSSC and court tests.
- Practise Hindi typing on Inscript (Mangal) or Remington GAIL without installing anything.
- Learn touch typing from the first key in 12 lessons.
- Type in 13 Indian languages using English letters, translate between English and Indian languages, and convert Krutidev text to Unicode.
Everything is free and works without an account. Results stay in your own browser.
Who writes our content
Our guides and practice passages are written by Johny, who focuses on typing skill tests in Indian government recruitment, in English and Hindi. Exam rules are taken from official notifications and instructions issued by the recruiting bodies, and pages are updated when new notifications change the rules. Read how we work in our editorial policy.
Independence
EnglishTyping.in is an independent website. It is not run by, or connected with, the Staff Selection Commission, the Railway Recruitment Boards, the Government of Madhya Pradesh, any court or any other government body. Always confirm exam rules in the official notification for your recruitment.
